God is Watching

My thoughts today are turned to some I know who are going through difficult times. There are so many in the world that must deal with severe problems. And some of them are very close to home.

Then my studies today included a visit to Isaiah 63:15, which says in part, “Look down from heaven and see, from your holy and beautiful habitation.” This is certainly the attitude many of us feel. We wonder at times if God is paying attention. We cry out for him to just look and see what is happening in our lives.

My friends, he does look and see. A study of the context belonging to the above quote shows that God was watching all along. He knew what was happening. And he knew how to make the best use of the circumstances that the nation of Israel was facing.

This is promised to all who love God (Romans 8:28). Satan may bring all sorts of evil into a life. But if that person is hungering after God, God who gave his own Son for us will certainly give the blessings needed in the hour of distress.

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? … I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

(Romans 8:35,38,39)
